The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in France earlier this month was the testament of a society upholding extreme far-left secular ideology.
Christianity was mocked through the display of the LGBT version of ‘the last supper’.
People performing on stage half naked for the world to see.
Secularism seek to separate state and religion, leaving the society void of any moral compass that would otherwise prevent such disgraceful acts for the whole world to see.
Here in Malaysia, a majority of the non-Malays are convinced that secularism is the best way forward to govern Malaysia and this cause is championed by the DAP, as stated in their party’s constitution.
The recent incident involving a brewery displaying their banners in a Chinese vernacular school compound to underage students seems fine to the DAP leadership.
Luckily the Malay community came together and voiced out against this issue which then made Anthony Loke, DAP’s secretary general, to concur that the brewery banners should not have been displayed in the school compound.
I was under the impression that the DAP’s detached leadership was the reason they failed to recognize that there are Muslim children there too and that the Malays have started to bridge the racial gap with the Chinese by sending our children to study in the Chinese vernacular schools.
But then I realized, that was not the case.
It was their secular ideology that made them fine with the brewery companies promoting beers to the children of the Chinese community.
Though, I am glad the youth leader from MIC representing the Indians spoke out against this. There are still hope for our multi-religious Malaysia.
We have Islam to thank for that, because it guarantees the practice of other religions under the protection of Islam.
